About Fox Quest
Fox Quest is a colourful side-scrolling platformer: a little fox in a green scarf runs and jumps through 12 levels spread over 4 worlds. The forest teaches you to jump, collect coins and stomp your first slime. The desert has a pyramid to climb, spike pits, quicksand and the inside of the pyramid itself. Then comes the ice world, where the ground is slippery, and finally the volcano with its lava rivers, a fire fortress and the final peak.
Every level hides 3 big stars in tricky places: on a high ledge, at the top of a spring launch, or above a raft gliding over lava. You will also find moving platforms, blocks that crumble when you stand on them, springs that fling you into the sky, golden blocks that pay out coins when you bump them from below, and spinning fire bars you have to time just right. The critters are all cartoon: land on a slime or a bee and it pops into stars, but jump over the spiky hedgehog.
The fox has 3 hearts, and if you fall or get bumped you carry on from the last flag you passed, so there is no frustration. The game remembers the stars you found and your best time on every level, and beating the speed target earns a lightning badge. It plays on a computer with the keyboard and on phones and tablets with on-screen buttons, straight in the browser.
How to play
- Press Let's play and pick a level on the world map; the next one unlocks when you finish the one before it.
- Run right and jump over pits and spikes; press jump again in the air for a higher, longer double jump.
- Land on critters from above to pop them, but steer clear of spiky hedgehogs and fire bars.
- Touch the flags along the way: if you run out of hearts you continue from the last one.
- Collect the 3 stars and the coins, then reach the big flag at the end of the level.
Controls
| Keyboard | ← and → (or A and D) to run, ↑, W or Space to jump. Press jump again in mid-air for a double jump; let go early for a shorter hop. Esc or P pauses. Forward is always to the right, in both languages. |
|---|---|

| Touch | Two arrows at the bottom left to run and a big button on the right to jump; tap it again in the air for a double jump. The buttons stay in the same place in both languages. |
Tips to win
- Short hops matter: tap jump quickly to slip under ceiling spikes without bumping your head.
- Hold jump as you land on a critter to bounce extra high, which sometimes reaches a hidden star.
- The fox slides on ice, so start slowing down well before an edge.
- Crumbling blocks come back after a few seconds, so if one falls away just wait for it.
- Springs launch you very high: look above them for a star or a secret path.
Fox Quest: questions and answers
Is Fox Quest free?
Yes, completely free. It runs right in the browser with no download or sign-up, on computers, phones and tablets.
How many levels are there?
12 levels in 4 worlds (forest, desert, ice and volcano), each with 3 stars, so there are 36 stars to collect.
Is it too hard for younger players?
The first forest levels are easy and teach one thing at a time, and the challenge grows gently. Running out of hearts only sends you back to the last flag, never to the start.
Is there any violence?
No. The critters are cartoon and pop into stars and puffs of smoke when you land on them, and a bumped fox just spins and carries on. No blood and nothing scary.
Does it save my progress?
Yes. On the same device and browser it keeps the levels you unlocked, the stars you found and your best time on each level.
