About Bouncy Basket

Bouncy Basket is a two-on-two basketball match where each team has just one button. Press it and both of your players jump at once and throw their arms up, each heading for the ball on their own. Their bodies sway and wobble like jelly, so a good jump is all about timing: lean too far and a player flies off at a silly angle, stay upright and they reach the ball in a single bound.

When one of your players catches the ball, the button becomes a shot. Press to jump towards the hoop and let go while in the air to throw. The most accurate shot is released at the very top of the jump, close to the basket. Keep holding until you land and you keep the ball, so you can hop closer first. Careful, though: a rival who reaches you with arms raised can snatch the ball straight out of your hands.

After every basket the match changes with a twist: big heads, a floaty beach ball, a heavy ball, moon gravity, long arms, tiny players or a slippery ice floor. Play the computer on three levels, or a friend on the same keyboard, or on the same phone with one half of the screen each.

How to play

  1. Choose the computer or a friend, and how many baskets win the match.
  2. Press your button to make your players hop towards the ball, and let go to drop their arms.
  3. Once you catch the ball, press to jump towards the hoop at the far end.
  4. Let go at the top of the jump to shoot; the closer you are, the better your aim.
  5. The first team to reach the target number of baskets wins.

Controls

KeyboardAgainst the computer: W, Space or ↑. In 2-player mode Player 1 (red, on the left) uses W or Space and Player 2 (blue, on the right) uses ↑ or Enter. Press to jump; with the ball, let go in the air to shoot.
MouseAgainst the computer, click anywhere on the court: pressing jumps, and letting go in the air shoots.
TouchAgainst the computer, tap anywhere. In 2-player mode the screen splits in two: Player 1 taps the left half and Player 2 the right half, so two people can play on one phone.

Tips to win

  • Don't hold the button all the time. Players have to touch the floor before they can jump again, so short, well-timed presses work best.
  • Far from the hoop with the ball? Keep holding until you land, then jump again from closer in.
  • When the other team has the ball, jump at them with your arms up to steal it or block the shot.
  • With moon gravity or the beach ball, shots float slowly, so wait a moment longer before letting go.

Bouncy Basket: questions and answers

How do two people play on one phone?

Choose “A friend (2 players)” and turn the phone sideways. Whoever plays red taps the left half of the screen, and whoever plays blue taps the right half.

Why do the players move on their own?

That's the idea: you only control the timing. Each player jumps towards the ball or the hoop by themselves, and you choose when they jump and when they shoot.

What are the twists after each basket?

Each point can be normal or come with a twist: big heads, a beach ball, a heavy ball, moon gravity, long arms, tiny players or an ice floor. The twist's name shows under the score.

Is it suitable for young children?

Yes. It is all jumping and giggling with no violence, and a single button makes it easy for anyone. Easy is a good level for a first game.
